Canon EOS 5D Mark IV

Canon EOS 5D Mark IV
Canon has introduced its new camera after four years. It was introduced back in 2016 where its competitors were bombarding camera market with new models every year. Finally the wait was over in 2016 where canon enthusiasts got their hands on new CANON EOS 5D Mark IV.

Canon has introduced 5D Mark IV with 30 Mega Pixel sensor. Its sensor technology is CMOS DIGIC 6+ sensor which expands ISO range from 100-102400. It has Dual Pixels which also helps in focusing while switched to live view of the camera. It has 61 Auto Focus points out of which 41 points are cross type focus points. This camera has great build quality and has features introduces like Wi-Fi connectivity and GPS options as well where its predecessor lacks in. It is mandatory to mention here is that this camera has 4K video option which most of canon fans were waiting to have it in their canon camera bodies but 4k recording has 1.64x crop factor video recording. This crop factor limits to use good EF-S glass on this body and increases focal length of lens.

Quick Technical specifications are mentioned hereunder:

Body Type: Mid Size SLR
Sensor type: CMOS
Sensor Size: Full Frame (36 x 24 mm)
Pixels: 30 Mega Pixels
Resolution: 6720 x 4480
ISO: 100 - 32000 (expandable to 1024000)
Lens Mount: Canon EF
LCD Type & Size: Fixed LCD & 3.2"
LCD Dots: 1,620,000
Max Shutter Speed: 1/8000 sec
Compatible cards: Compact Flash + (SD, SDHC, SDXC Card) UHS-1 enabled
Weight: 890g

In my opinion this camera is good for professionals deals in portraits, Landscapes, Studio photography street photography and general video recorders like content created for YOUTUBE, V-logs, documentaries. It is a durable camera with great features.
but I would not recommend it for those who are looking for a camera which they may use in harsh weather, high speed photography and professional video recorders like cinema and large scale videos. Over all it is a good but expensive upgrade from mid range canon DSLRs to Professional body.

Further It is necessary to mention here is that CANON recommends its EOS CINEMA series for cinema recordings.

Canon EOD 80D | Camera for Photo Enthusiast | Mid Range Camera

I have considered to write about this Canon Mid Range DSLR Camera because it is quite popular due to its features, and popular among Photographer enthusiast in 2018
Canon announced this camera in 2016 with slightly upgrades being made in its predecessor Canon EOS 70D. Main features of this camera are provided hereunder:
  • 24MP APS-C CMOS sensor with Dual Pixel AF
  • 45-point AF system with all cross-type points
  • Max Video recording at 1080/60p
  • Continuous shooting 7fps with AF
  • 100% View finder coverage
  • 3" articulating touchscreen
  • 7560-pixel RGB Plus IR metering sensor
  • Wi-Fi + NFC
Canon EOD 80D cons:
  • APS-C (crop sensor) rather than Full Frame sensor
  • Complex AF system (It requires time to get used to its usability)
  • No 4K recording
  • Quick Menu not customizability
This camera is a complete package for photo enthusiasts. Other major improvements are Motorized Shutter (similar to Canon 7D Mark II and Canon 5DS), which helps to capture less blurry images with shutter shake (like it happens with spring shutter cameras).

It is equipped with Canon Dual Pixel AF divides pixels into two portion. half of the pixel is used for Image detection and other half can be used for Phase detection. It also helps in continuous focus during video recording but also during still capturing in live view.
Please also note that this Dual Pixel AF works better with All Canon EF, EF-s and EF-M lenses.

Conclusion:
Canon EOS 80D is one of the good mid range cameras introduced by CANON. Any enthusiast who intends to buy a DSLR may consider it. It gives you great ease to handle stills as well as video recording. Due to lack of subject tracking capabilities, it may not be a good option for sports and action shooters. Further, in my consideration this has to be full frame camera rather AFS-C sensor as its focus points uses 62% horizontal and 48% vertical area of frame.
Overall the Canon EOS 80D offers best dynamic range comparing it with any AFS-C canon camera with dual pixel AF option as well. It is solid choice for enthusiasts.

NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G

If you have bought a DSLR recently or doesn't own 50mm prime lens then you must be added into your lens collection. This is one of my all time favorite lens because of its wide/fast aperture f/1.8. It amazingly perform in day light as well as in low light. It enhances your normal portraits into attractive by providing BOKEH effect in the background. It also captures sharp and crisp out door images almost same as you see with naked eye.

Technical Specifications are provided hereunder:
  • Focal Length: 50mm
  • Max aperture: 1.8*
  • Min aperture: 16
  • AF-S (Silent wave motor): Yes
  • Approx. Dimensions (Diameter x Length): 2.8 in (72.1mm)x 2.1 in (52.4mm)
*smaller f stop value shows wider/bigger aperture and vice versa
This 50mm lens allows you to capture amazing images with shallow depth of field that allows objects in the background to stands prominent.

This lens also offers you to capture great amount of light with depth and reduces flare as well. It enhances the light transmission efficiency and beautiful color saturation with Nikon's Super Integrated Coating (SIC).
